a new year
I'm a little fuzzy this morning. We still haven't shed out PJ's, but that's what New Year's day is all about, right?
A few close friends came over for dinner last night to ring in the New Year. Made me realize how much I miss having parties, at least small intimate gatherings. We used to have people over all the time when I lived in San Francisco, but when I moved to New York, the space constraint ended these gatherings.
The meal was a collaborative effort, but the centerpiece was lobster. Which we all decided we hadn't eaten for quite awhile and possibly it was together, one of the last weekends of our summer share on Fire Island a few years ago. Oh, and I almost forgot, Jimmy made delicious Sticky Toffee Pudding, to end the night.
I didn't make any New Year's resolutions. In the past they always seem to be the same, mainly focused on losing ten pounds. But, as age and child bearing has crept up on me the ten pounds seems to grow. So, this year, no weight resolutions. A better resolution will be connect more with friends, both old and new.
A few things I've scouted out this morning, that you should take a peek at:
- Ella's adorable egg
- Grace and Alice's sweet mushrooms
- Miko Design's Baboushka underwear
- Kim's Baseball Tee, which inspired me to start on one as a gift for a baby to be
- The Daisy Stitch Handwarmers over at The Purl Bee
This was the look I just received when I told her that I would read a book in just a minute. Geesh.
Hope you all have a wonderful New Year's day!

HA! I usually get that look right before she throws something- her new party trick, throwing!

So what kind of face does she make when you actually say "no?" She's just so darned cute. Happy New Year to all of you!
